2025 Club Championship

After careful consideration, your Golf Committee is thrilled to unveil an exciting new format for the Club Championship, set to take effect this year. Players will continue to accumulate season points as in previous years, with double points awarded during the State Scramble and Individual Championship events. As in the past, the Championship will span the first three weeks of November, with the fourth week reserved for any rain-outs. To compete for the Club Championship, players must participate in both the 2nd and 3rd Championship tournaments throughout November. In the first week, the top 80 players in the Season Points standings will have the opportunity to earn quadruple points, giving them a chance to break into the top 50 for week two. During the second week, only the top 50 players will be eligible to earn additional quadruple points, aiming to secure a spot in the top 30 for the week 3 tournament. In week 3, only the top 30 players will vie for the Club Championship, with their Championship score calculated as the sum of their NET scores from weeks 2 and 3. It’s important to note that players outside the top 30 will not be added to the Championship field to compensate for any eligible players who opt out of the final tournament. Lastly, all players competing in the final top 30 will start with an even playing field, with no stroke advantage given to the top Season Points players, reflecting the recent changes adopted by the PGA. With this new format, the path to victory will require two solid rounds of golf. As we embark on this new journey, we invite all members to connect and engage with one another, fostering the camaraderie and sportsmanship that define the spirit of SIR 98 Golf. Together, let’s create an unforgettable season and strengthen the bonds that make our club a true community. Remember, at SIR 98 Golf, we are not just playing a game; we are building friendships for life.
